A satellite directs a semi-
through eroded folds and up
-lifts beveled by years the pines
can’t mark, the fine
-st-grained matrix of gravel
roads and numbered routes,
braidplains, valley choker
moraines: the primitive
premise of the Interstate shield
-ing pictorial tributaries
from targeting plans and more
difficult questions, or the pro
-liferation of roadside asters
engineered for compliance
when the semi- Jake-brakes
the downgrade, descending
the abstractions to some
plausible Housatonic:
